Application & Funding

As a member of the Graduate Research Academy RNA Biology you will have various benefits such as funding of method courses, travel grants or student helpers. As a prerequisite for funding, the applicant (PhD student) is required to be a member of the Graduate Research Academy and his/her scientific project has to have a strong focus on RNA biology.

To become a member of the Graduate Research Academy, applications should be directed to the Management Office of the Graduate Research Academy and need to include a CV, a short summary of the PhD project (description used to apply for RIGeL membership) and a short motivation letter indicating the relevance of the PhD project to RNA biology. Applications for membership and funding are evaluated by the Board of the Graduate Research Academy based on criteria including quality of the application, motivation, and relevance to RNA biology or RNA-based research.

Please note that all PhD students hired for SFB960 are automatically subscribed as members of the Graduate Research Academy and don’t need to apply.

M. Sc. students can also be supported (attending method courses, short term research visits) as part of a "qualification scholarship".

For further information please contact the Management Office of the Graduate Research Academy.
